San Juan Gravel Classic
July 25, 2026 | Ridgway, Colorado
Join us for the inaugural San Juan Gravel Classic in Ridgway, Colorado. Destined to become a classic, the SJGC is a fully supported gravel ride through the wide-open backroads of Ouray County with quiet roads and fantastic big mountain views. Choose a 22-mile pastoral out-and-back with about 1,500 feet of climbing, or step up to the 44-mile route with just over 4,300 feet of gain. It’s not a race(!), just a solid day in the saddle in the most spectacular corner of Colorado.
We’ll start and finish in Ridgway Town Park, where riders come back together for food, some live music, and a well-earned good beer.
Every mile ridden supports the Ouray Advocates for Kids Foundation (OAK), helping fund programs and opportunities for kids right here in Ouray County.

About This Sport
Endurance Grid is here to help you understand the sport, decide if it's the right fit, and learn how to prepare. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer's event page.
Gravel riding takes you off the pavement and onto mixed terrain — dirt roads, packed gravel, and everything in between — for a cycling experience that's more adventure than race.
The community is famously welcoming, the scenery is usually worth it, and finishing feels like you actually went somewhere.
Off-road cycling on mixed terrain — pavement, gravel, dirt. More adventure than road racing, more accessible than mountain biking.
